2020 News
Wednesday 16th December
As 2020 draws to a close, we look back on what has been a quite year for us due to the health crisis. Usually we would have enjoyed welcoming many to our buses and attending many events. However, that was not the case this year.
We look forward to 2021 as we will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. S&DTHT was formed upon the basis of the Solent Transport Trust (STT) and former members of the 7164 Group in early 2001. We hopes to be able to celebrate this milestone in a number of ways depending upon conditions regarding the health crisis.
We have launched a 2021 commemorative calendar. This is available to purchase via the emailing us. They are available to purchase for £10 each including P&P or if you wish to join us as a member this will be offered at £30 including P&P and a years membership of the Trust.
A DVD covering Southampton buses and recording events where the Trust participated is also in preparation alongside a book written by S&DTHT Chairman David Hutchings entitled Southampton City Transport Buses which will be launched early next year.
We would like to wish our supporters and friends a very Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year for 2020. We look forward to seeing you all next year, when we will be out and about as much as we can.
We have enjoyed meeting remotely during the last few months.

SOS - Support Old Southampton Buses
The Southampton & District Transport Heritage Trust (S&DTHT) is a Southampton based bus preservation charity, which relies on donations and support from its members and the general public. Visit our website www.sadtht.co.uk for more information about our work.
Due to the world wide pandemic 'COVID-19' health crisis, the usual fundraising methods have ceased for the time being. We are therefore asking for support from as many people as possible to keep the wheels turning during this difficult time. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will go towards general costs of the Trust and the upkeep of the vehicles.
The buses are regularly seen on the streets bringing back memories for many, this year so far more than 20 events we were due to attend have either been postponed or cancelled.
If you wish to support us by joining the Trust and becoming a member, we are able to process membership applications via email and BACS payment during this time of hardship.
Donations can be made via our Just Giving page, by emailing us to make a BACS payment or by sending a cheque made payable to 'S&DTHT' to SOS - S&DTHT, 104 Oaktree Road, Southampton, SO18 1PH.
S&DTHT is part of a wider registered charity: Working Omnibus Project Ltd (WOMP), which is a company limited by guarantee.
Regretfully, our June (8th), July (13th) and August (10th) monthly meetings which were to be held at Bursledon Brickworks Museum have been cancelled due to the current heath crisis.
We intend to resume meetings on Monday 14th September at the Southampton Sailing Club in Woolston. However, this will only go ahead if it is safe to do so. If we need to cancel this meeting, an announcement will be made and publicised here and on our social media channels.
