The Southampton Heritage Open Days are taking place on Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th September 2016. The event is part of the national Heritage Open Days event.

 
The whole event is free and gives the opportunity to visit different locations around Southampton. The event is based around the Bugle Street area with heritage buses linking to other venues across the City.

 
 
Saturday 10th September:
 
• Heritage Fayre at St Joseph's Church, Bugle Street
• SS Shieldhall open from 10am till 3:00pm, located in Dock Gate 4
• Southampton Old Bowling Green: Heritage Day - Bowling from the 13th Century
• Bitterne Local History Centre will be open
• Southampton Old Cemetery tours at 11:30 & 13:30, located adjoining the Southampton Common
• Common tours at 12:30 & 14:30
• Tram & Dunkirk Little Ships workshop open, located near SS Shieldhall in Dock Gate 4.
• Free mini tours from SEE Southampton Tour Guides from the Heritage Fayre, Bugle Street
• St. Michael's Church, Bugle Street, Fayre in the square from 11am till 2pm and the chruch will be open all day to have a look around

 
A free Heritage bus service will link the venues together:
 
• Bus stops route A : Heritage Fayre (Bugle Street), Platform Road and SS Shieldhall/Workshop
• Bus stops route B : Heritage Fayre (Bugle Street), Platform Road, Bitterne Local History Centre
• Bus Stops route C: Heritage Fayre (Bugle Street), Platform Road, Castle Way, Civic Centre & Old Cemetery

 



 
**Visitors must not enter or exit the Docks, except by way of the free bus service**

 
 
Sunday 11th September:
 
• Tudor House and Garden will be op open for free
• Free guided tour by bus from Tudor House - 10:30, 12:00, 14:00 & 15:30
• SS Shieldhall will be open from 10am till 3:00pm, located in Dock Gate 4
• Southampton Tram Project & Dunkirk Little Ships workshop open, located near SS Shieldhall in Dock Gate 4
• Southampton Old Bowling Green will be open
• Free mini tours from Southampton Tourist Guides Association (STGA)
- Hourly from 11:00 - 15:00, meet at St. Michael's Square

 
A free Heritage bus service will link the venues together:
 
• Bus stops route A: Tudor House, Platform Road and SS Shieldhall/Workshop
