Delivered in March 1949 No. 167 a Guy Arab III with Park Royal H30/26R body as one of a large batch of tramway replacement vehicles along with many others it formed the very standardised of the Southampton Corporation Transport fleet of the 1950's. This bus was one of two (the other bus was 164 was treated similarly in April 1966), converted to open top configuration in May 1967 for use on City and Docks tours.
On 1st April 1972 both vehicles were renumbered 64 and 67 so as not to cause confusion with deliveries with new Leyland Atlanteans that were entering service. The bus was sold, initially, to Mr. D.Fereday-Glenn in October 1975, who reverted it back to its original 167 fleet number and then to Mr. D Ashbee, an ex Southampton Corporation Transport employee who is continuing to maintain and preserve it.
